Today was opened in Reggio Emilia the new railway station designed by the spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. This new structure complete the area plan developed by the the designer, where there are also the three famous bridges opened a few years ago. This new structure is extremely modern and impressive. The shell of the station is composed of steel beams painted white interspersed with glasses that protect the rails laterally and from above. These beams are juxtaposed with a wave motion that goes to develop in length 20 waves. View from the nearby highway, at high-speed, structure seems to move lightly and elegantly. View from the inside, the station seems suspended in time and space. The overall impact is extremely impressive. I am sure that this architecture will become a symbol for the future generations of architects and a great chance of momentum for the city.
