Some artists are able to interpretate the time they are living in and can preview and open chances to the next generation. I call these artists genius. Tony Viramontes is one of these people and his drawings and sketches at Galleria Sozzani in Milan show it. He operated in the last ’70s and his traits and colors had a big influence on what will be the style of ’80s and ’90s. He was able to define a body shape or a face with few lines, perfectly defined, set up to fade on the sheet. I ‘ve found extremely impressive the way his semplicity can produce masterpieces. It’s definetly an exhibition to visit.
